If you’re an owner/operator of a small to medium-sized business (SME), it’s likely you’re feeling impacted by COVID-19 as its effects on the Australian economy become more severe by the day. Although we are seeing a number of innovative companies experience a boom, with some sectors feeling the positive effects of unanticipated consumer demand, most industries are facing a downturn for an indefinite period of time.
The natural reaction for adversely affected businesses is to review operating costs and identify which areas can be trimmed back, with advertising often the first casualty. But in reality, keeping your products and services in front of buying customers is paramount at this time as it will allow you to continue to operate once life returns to normal – and may keep you afloat in the interim.
This is why we are excited to share that Google has announced a pledge of $800+ million to support small businesses severely impacted by COVID-19, with $340 million in advertising credits going to SMEs with Google Ads accounts since the beginning of 2019. There is no sign-up or application to receive these credits, so as long as you are eligible you should see them enter your account in the coming weeks.
Google’s goal with this pledge is to alleviate some of the costs small businesses must bear to maintain contact with their customers and keep business moving forward. In a statement provided on their website, “credit notifications will appear in small and medium businesses’ Google Ads accounts and can be used at any point in time up until the end of 2020 across our advertising platforms”.
If you would like to know more about this scheme and whether you’re eligible to receive Google Ads credits, call Two Moons today on (08) 9300 1888. We are continuing to operate during this period and are committed to supporting our valued clients with whatever assistance you may need.
